Dear Student,

 

Congratulations on your admission to Alabama A&M University! Should you accept admittance to the University, you should know that your fellow students will include many of the most intelligent and creative students of your generation. Students arrive from 41 states, more than 20 nations to form an exciting, affable academic community where new viewpoints are continually embraced. Membership in such a distinguished cohort is an enduring pleasure. We believe you can make no better choice for graduate study than Alabama A&M University.

 

Steps to Respond to the Offer of Admission

1. Go to the Graduate School web page and complete the Acceptance of Admissions Form.

2. After completing the Acceptance of Admissions form, save the document and then email a copy of the form to gradschool1@aamu.edu.

3. All Acceptance of Admissions forms must be recieved by the Graduate School by the third Thursday of May for priority processing.

4. Complete a medical records form. Copies of completed forms can be scanned and emailed to the AAMU John & Ella Byrd McCain Health and Counseling Services at studenthealth@aamu.edu, or faxed at 256-372-5599 (All student must have a medical records form on file before they can be cleared to enroll in classes at Alabama A&M University).

 


Please review the following steps for completion of your admissions process.

  

1.    Medical Records

Complete a medical records form. Copies of completed forms can be scanned and emailed to the AAMU John & Ella Byrd McCain Health and Counseling Services at studenthealth@aamu.edu, or faxed at 256-372-5599 (All student must have a medical records form on file before they can be cleared to enroll in classes at Alabama A&M University).

 

2.    Course Registration

After advisement from Departments, all first-time graduate students are registered through the Graduate Studies Office during the first semester. Please contact your graduate advisor.

 

3.    Banner Self Service System

Banner Self-Service is the official records system for the university. This allows students to register for classes, adjust mail and addresses, emails, and phone numbers and much more. 

 

4.    Student Email Services at AAMU

Alabama A&M University has established email as a primary vehicle for official communication with students, faculty, and staff. All students must have a bulldogs.aamu.edu account, your bulldog account is the official email address recognized by the university. You may keep the account for as long as you want, permanently if desired, after you leave AAMU. Bulldog student email is hosted by Google with an address of externalID@bulldogs.aamu.edu.

To access your student email you will need to know the following: A-Number, External ID and Initial Password provided by the university. If you have those, follow these email instructions to log in.

5.    Orientation

Orientation for new graduate students is held at the beginning of the spring, summer, and fall terms. All new students are required to attend orientation. For more information about orientation (or changes in the location) please check news and announcements on the Graduate School Web Page.

 

6.    Housing

Alabama A&M University offers apartment style housing in Normal Hills Apartments. Apartments are fully furnished and are offered in one-, two-, and three-bedroom units. For more information about housing, please visit the website for the Office of Residential Life & Housing.

 

For students who prefer off-campus housing, there are dozens of options including the Executive Lodge and Huntsville Place Apartments. 

 

7.    Financial Aid

Please contact Financial Aid at 256-372-5400 or visit the Office of Financial Aid website.

 

8.    Travel

Several airlines serve Huntsville, AL. The city is also served by Greyhound Bus Line.
